Hi Daniel, Just randomly found your channel. Already watched more than 60% of your videos. And learned a lot. I have a question. when you increased OH channels and Room Channels, no comb filtering happened on Snare, although snare could be heard clearly on OH and Room. How come? Have you time aligned? Thanks
I'm pretty sure I phase aligned all of the drum channels on anything you're hearing that I did not record myself. I don't always do that with the room's, but if there's important bottom end in there that I want which doesn't play nice I'll align it.

I put a DBX 902 on it. That's probably what you're hearing; it does warm it up and tame it down. LSR Audio makes a killer plugin version called the "VLB 902 DE-ESSER." It's also available from Plugin Alliance as the "Lindell Audio 902 De-Esser." After it's de-essed with the 902, you can crank up the highs without it biting your head off.

Love to see you're back! I see you've changed your setup in the meantime. Without text sometimes it was too fast for me. 😅 So the Fatso is now used in the place of the 33609 for everything but drums, right? What's with the Germaniums, couldn't really tell... Ah, man, how I miss working a desk. We had that exact same AWS board - sold it, but at least kept all the outboard.
I'm going to put text on many of my upcoming videos. This was mostly kind of a fun test I think I used the 33609 on drums and bass in the old videos. Now I have the 33609 on overheads (which also includes the real kick and room mics). now I have the Distressors on the Drums and Bass bus. The Fatso is on everything that isn't the drums and bass (mostly just for the warm function). I'm using the Germanium's to add glue to the mixbus. I'm still trying to dial that in. I do love my AWS, but I'm not married to it. My plan is to get a 4000 E or G in the near future. Thanks for noticing the details!
